•Siendo una adolescente comenzó su carrera profesional como modelo, lo que le ha permitido realizar estancias de varios meses en Japón,  experiencia que le ha servido para conocer las costumbres y el idioma del país nipón y a posteriori para publicar en el año 2007 el libro "El Revés de la Moda. La Aventura de una Modelo en Japón" en el que Mónica narra sus vivencias personales durante su estancia en el país asiático.

•Su primera toma de contacto con el mundo de la televisión fue en 1991, como presentadora del espacio juvenil "La quinta marcha" de Telecinco. Desde entonces ha presentado diversos programas de cadenas como antena 3, en la que actualmente continua con Manu Sánchez al frente del programa deportivo 'Territorio Champions‘
